Embracing Tradition
AIMS Campus welcomed the dawn of a new year with open arms and cherished traditions. The campus community came together to celebrate the arrival of 2024 in a manner that honored the rich cultural heritage and customs that bind us together.
At the heart of the New Year celebration was the lighting of the oil lamp, a symbolic gesture that signifies the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of light and prosperity. As the gentle glow of the lamp illuminated the surroundings, a sense of warmth and unity enveloped the gathering, reminding everyone of the importance of coming together in fellowship and harmony.
The food table, adorned with an array of culinary delights, served as a centerpiece for the celebration. Milk rice, a traditional Sri Lankan delicacy, took pride of place, symbolizing abundance and prosperity for the year ahead. Complemented by an assortment of traditional sweets, the food table offered a feast for both the senses and the soul, evoking memories of family gatherings and festive occasions.
Amidst the laughter and chatter, students, faculty, and staff gathered around the food table to partake in the shared joy of the celebration. Stories were shared, memories were made, and bonds were strengthened as everyone joined in the festivities, leaving behind the cares of the past year and embracing the promise of the new one.
